- If it folds, do not buy it. Some messenger bags are made from soft materials such as nylon and pure leather. Wear it and put it on the side. If it folds, choose another one.

- Match your size with its size. If you're a big guy, go for big messenger bags. If you have a thin frame, go for smaller ones.

- The strap is as important as the body. If the strap looks cheap, ditch it.

- Color is everything. For your office attire, brown or black is best.

- Of course, function should be considered. Are there enough compartments?
